If there are stairs at either your home or place of work, use them. Climbing stairs is a fantastic way to burn calories. This activity will also help to develop the muscles in your legs and buttocks as well.


Brisk walking is another thing you can do as part of your daily routine to burn a few extra calories. Try to leave your car at home whenever possible, and run your errands on foot instead. You can also go for a short walk on your lunch break or before and after work at home. Get your entire family out for a walk so that everyone can burn extra calories.


Speeding up your metabolism helps your body burn calories more effectively. A healthy diet is key to keeping your metabolism running efficiently and at a high rate. Once you start eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, you should start to experience an increased level of energy. That goes hand in hand with keeping your metabolism up.

Sure you will want to add regular exercise into the mix, but you can choose activities you enjoy. There is no need to be miserable and unhappy when you are trying to burn off some extra calories.
